So many beautiful images, still, floating around in my head from the weekend of celebrating.
We used the tutorial at Mother Earth News to make our own natural egg dye (for the hard-boiled batch). After the eggs were all dyed we painted more...... The leftover dye (paint) we froze in ice-cube trays for later paining projects. It was so much fun, and stunningly beautiful. I think we will make more paint from various natural materials.
More scones made with currants.
Peeps, wool felted using the tutorial from RadMegan.
The awe inspiring sight of a vulture in flight and the sound of his wings overhead.
Pirates in the grass.
Boy with monkey flowers.
Field of Blue-Eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium).
Lichen in my favorite color combo.
Cheerful faces of springtime blossoms (Mimulus).
Stunning views through the Wild Buckwheat (Eriogonum).
Visions of springtime at it's best!
Side Note: Also making me smile, a quick conversation with my boy, it goes something like this:
G - "Mama, why does off mean on sometimes"
M - "Well....off means off and on means on" (not sure what else to say but searching for his real question)
G - "When the fire alarm goes on, you say, the fire alarm went off"
M - (ear to ear smile) "Oh, you're right....sometimes we do say that....hmmm, that's strange"
G - " Yeah, I thought there was something the matter with on!"
Ack....I love that! These moments of observation and insight are precious.
Wishing you a fantastic day.
