On the eve of Thanksgiving my mind wanders, searching the memory banks of Thanksgivings past, pondering the meaning of this day, the meaning for me individually, beyond the historical significance.
Often I have thought of life as a veritable feast, offering both the bitter and the sweet. This past year has been no exception to the plethora of offerings, perhaps even a bit heavy on the bitter, hard to digest ingredients but amidst life, life in the fullest, there is such an overwhelming abundance left to be thankful for. On this Thanksgiving I will enjoy every bite of goodness the feast has to offer, love those around me, turn my cheek to the sun, grab a moment in my garden and hold in my mind those that I love dearly. This Thanksgiving, I will practice living thanks, a practice that ultimately I would like to live everyday.
Wishing you, dear friends, a day full of thanksgiving and loved ones near. Thank you for bringing sunshine to my days. For this space, and for you, I am thankful.
