It's really here, right on top of us......December! The craziest month of the year, for this little family, has begun. Everywhere I look I am reminded. There's a funny mix of leftover gourds and squash trying to make their way out the door as the Christmas tree and pine-cones push their way in. It feels a bit chaotic, but I think I can stand it just long enough to see the magic of the season come to life, hopefully, in the next day or so as we decorate, craft and maybe even clean a bit.
Ideas are swirling about so fast I'm not sure we can catch them all. Visions of sugar plums for sure. At least a list or two or twelve are in the making.
~a list for gifts to make
~a list for gifts wanted
~another list for gifts wanted
~a list of loved ones to give to
~a secret list
and on, and on, the list of lists could go.
A few of the highlights on the to-be-made list are:
these belts,
surf trunks (never too many trunks),
the luka hoodie in size 4 and size 7,
{above images and patterns from: Sewing for Boys 24 Projects to Create a Handmade Wardrobe by Shelly Figueroa and Karen LePage with photography by: Christy Rimrodt of Studio Christy Photography}
a Backgammon Board,
and a Checkerboard, as well as other top secret ideas in the works.
I will be honest, with both myself and you, December is here and my list is growing. The pile of finished products, however, is not which can only mean one thing: some of these projects will still be on the list even after December, all our Birthdays and Christmas, have passed.
Say, what are you working on these December evenings?
