As the gifting season fast approaches we find ourselves focused on that which we love most, the making......making of gifts for those we love, but also the making of memories as we spend time together, plotting, planning and crafting. I try to go out into the commercial world less and stay home more. I try to spend our gifting money on the purchasing of material for the items we wish to make. I try to focus my children's attention on the giving spirit, as much fun as it is to receive the gifts it is also a pleasure to give. And to make and then give, even better. In the planning of our holiday crafts we talk about what we did in the recent years past, who received what gifts from us, what we had wanted to make but did not get around to, and so on. So, I thought today I would take you on a quick tour of some projects from the past.
{Hand dipped beeswax candles. Great family fun and wonderful aroma. These were part of our gift bags. More on making hand dipped beeswax candles in this post.}
{For the lover of tools and modeling! This was a found tool box filled with collected goodies and homemade playdough - more on this here}
{Homemade Bow and Arrow set, with safe wine cork arrow tips and a painted target...hours of concentration and fun - more on this project here - originally inspired by Imagine Childhood}
{Fish and fishing pole gift set - perfect for the three year old in your life! More on this project in this post.}
{A few years ago a group of moms from Wishing Well School gathered to follow this tutorial and make our littles these hobby horses - the result: fun memories from both the days of making and the days of playing..great gift for years of fun}
{Walk-tall blocks, boost your youngster to a taller position in play life. These are from Wishing Well School and I don't have specifics on their construction only inspiration to offer and testimonial that they are simply well loved, offering lots of outdoor open ended play}
{Antique hand mixers arrived last year in Gavin and Chaz's Christmas stockings! What a clever little contraption for Santa to deliver, they have been a welcomed addition to our time in the kitchen}
{The year prior to the mixers red kid-sized metal shovels were delivered by Santa, and as you can see, have enjoyed much digging since}
{At some gifting point in time - small watering cans arrived and have also been a great addition to the outdoor fun - often found at your local hardware or farm supply store}
{more on our hand-stamped reusable gift bags, labels, and contents in this post}
Wishing you a season of crafty-gifting, calm unhurried days and good times spent making more than times spent shopping!
